For the Nth Time… [It’s not Rape if you yell Surprise]

October 6, 2008

Random Old Person I Can’t Remember But She Remembers Me: Hey! What are you doing here?
Me: Uhh.. Hey? I’m studying here…
ROPICRBSRM: Oh, really? Why? I thought you were taking on Nursing or something?
Me: I quit Nursing.
ROPICRBSRM: Awww… Why? That’s such a shame…
Me: Not really. I didn’t like it and it didn’t like me. Although it did give me good grades.
ROPICRBSRM: Did you miss your mom or something?

Wow. Just wow.

I’ve never been a fan of ignorance. There’s a difference between ignoring a side and refusing to give a crap about its existence. With the former, you can’t come to terms with the opposition’s existence while the latter means you know it exists but does not respect, to some degree, its existence. Feel free to reread that as much as you’d like.

I quit nursing. I didn’t like it but that doesn’t make it lame to everyone else. Frankly, I think my lame but that’s just a personal opinion that’s not even worth flaunting about. Mind you, I have decent grades. The point is, if you regret something you didn’t do, you’re either an idiot or a moron or a highly irrational personal. Whatever label you may want to associate yourself with, our pitiful existence doesn’t really matter. Much like voting, in general. [Read “America: The Book”]

We can do whatever we want to do. There are guidelines but life’s not bound by those measures. On the grand scheme of things, we all just want to be able to live our lives the way we want to. Some, like me, more than others.

I am going to be a writer. Sympathy, empathy, apathy… It’s not rape if you yell surprise.
